2002-5 A Portrait of Childhood.
A collection of Family Portraits which capture different aspects of childhood.

Rothschild Family - This portrait depicts the girls shoes just before the eldest started secondary school, at a time when all three girls still wore similar shoes.  At that time they took them off when they returned home from school and they would be left in a row by the front door.  That time has passed but the painting now hangs by the front door.

                                                        

     

                                                                         
Falconer Family - Green challenges the static nature of conventional portraiture, and introduces the concept of motion into the work "Spin".  Nicola created her own original design using a spindle-operated system; this was developed with the help of John Jones.  This kinetic portrait means that the image is not a fixed entity, the composition and interpretation changes as the portrait spins.
